Clyde Big Paws':

Tribute to Thusnelda

A MIDI Clyde Tune™ MIDI Clyde Tunes Icon

Clyde was knighted,

"Sir Clyde Big Paws, Master of the Queene's Mewsic"

by Queen Bitsy of
Dorissimo's Domain for his service to the Doimain and his

"Tribute to Thusnelda."

It was a great honor for such a little cat.

Guess what? This is a commissioned piece!

Queen Bitsy of Dorissimo's Domain visited ClydeSight2.0! and heard his MIDI Clyde Tunes™. She was so impressed that she wrote to "Johann Sebastian" Clyde and commissioned him to compose some special mewsic for a memorial page dedicated to Thusnelda, a kitty who crossed the Rainbow Bridge some time ago.

Naturally, Clyde accepted the commission. The result is the music you are about to hear, here. The composition is called
Tribute to Thusnelda.

Listen to this!

As a very special treat, Clyde has arranged his HTML code so that TWO controllers will appear on your browser. (Keep scrolling down the page to find them.) The top controller is for the .MID version of
Tribute to Thusnelda, and the lower controller is for the .MOV version of the same music.

Why two versions?

There are TWO software synthesizers available (for free!) on the Internet:

Apple Computer's Quick Time Musical Instruments (part of the QuickTime 2.5 Plug-in), with patches created by Roland, and

Yamaha's MIDPLUG (A MIDI file player plug-in), with patches created by Yamaha.

All MOV files will use the Quick Time Musical Instruments package, but a MID file can use any of several plug-ins, most of which default to the QTMI package anyway.

If you follow the instructions in
About MIDI Clyde Tunes™ (click here to go there and follow the instructions) you can configure your browser so that you can have BOTH Apple and Yamaha synthesizers on your system without any conflicts.

Once you have done that, you can hear the two versions of the
Tribute To Thusnelda, with just the click of a controller button. No re-configuring of your browser, no switching pages! Pretty neat, huh?

But Clyde, I can't use Yamaha's MIDPLUG! What about me?

No problem, says Clyde. One of two things will happen. Either a blank grey box will appear, meaning your browser is not configured for a MID file, or the controller for whatever plug-in you have told your browser to use for a MID file will appear. If a blank grey box appears for BOTH controllers, your browser isn't configured for either MID or MOV files, and, of course, you will not be able to play the music.

The music is the same for both versions, but the sound is entirely different. That's because different synthesizer manufacturers create different
timbres (tones) for their synths.

Some Important Clyde Advice:

Don't try to play both controllers at the same time! Your browser will let you do that, but your computer will try and play the music over itself and out of sync. It will sound terrible, and could crash your system. Use only one controller at a time, okay? (Clyde bets that now that you've been warned, you'll try it anyway.)

The Rainbow Bridge

Tuzi, as she was wont to be called, was a beautiful Tortie that could have been a sibling to Queen Bitsy of Dorissimo's Domain. Unfortunately, Tuzi crossed over the Rainbow Bridge before Bitsy came to stay. Tuzi was greatly loved, and lived to a very ripe old age in peace and happiness.

Queen Bitsy asked Clyde Big Paws to create some special tribute music for her memorial page. You can go there and see this beautiful tribute to a beautiful cat by following this link:
