Are you confused by the way Bryce uses linkages and tracking to control
multiple objects?
What if you could easily make a simple model that shows how these two
features work?
Well, now you can!
The purpose of this tutorial is to learn how to use linking and tracking in Bryce to make one object use rotary motion to control other objects for both lateral and rotary motion. We'll use a simple steam engine design as our mechanical model, and learn how to animate it very easily by controlling only one rotating object! Our model will use only SEVEN Bryce primitives and we'll even be able to animate the model manually in wireframe mode right on the modeling screen! We'll also look at some time line animation and rendering tricks to get smooth rotations that appear seamless.

Our very simple model will look like this.

The tutorial has three parts: Simple Steam Engine Design, Modeling a Simple Steam Engine in Bryce, and Animating a Simple Steam Engine in Bryce. All pages are printable and use images to illustrate everything!
